Now people can ride, slide and dive where Olympic swimmers once competed. Beijing’s National Aquatic Center, also known as the Water Cube, where Michael Phelps won 8 gold metals during the 2008 Olympics, has been revamped into a water park. The underwater environment within the environmentally friendly blue bubble exterior was designed by Forrec Company which specializes in the creation of leisure and entertainment venues worldwide. Located next to the famed Bird’s Nest (Olympic Stadium) the Happy Magic Water Cube, Beijing Water Cube Water Park houses a wave pool, lazy river, spa area and 13 award-winning water slides and rides, including the Bullet Bowl, Speed Slide and Tornado. Bright floating sea creatures fill the space for an even more realistic experience.
