In big cities they roam in flocks, and aren’t scared away by human foot traffic. Drop a crumb and they’re at your feet scrounging for more. Rats of the Sky, Rodents with Wings, Pidgeons. But would you feel the same way if they were vibrantly colorful, brightly adorning the middle of the sidewalk? Berlin-based artisians Julian Charriere and Julius Von Bismarck collaborated in a project to dye the birds an array of bright hues in order to change the perception of them being Flying Vermin. Without harming the pidgeons, Charriere and Von Bismarck spray painted the birds with a non-toxic paint and set them free so that maybe people will perceive them in a different light. What do you think?
