The UK Pavilion, Seed Cathedral, designed by Heatherwick Studio is artistically breathtaking. Winner of the 2010 RIBA Lubetkin Prize in September 2007, it has been ranked one of the most popular pavilions in the world, receiving on average, around 50,000 visitors each day. The Seed Cathedral is a 20-meter high building, constructed from 60,000 transparent optical strands oddly embedded on the tips with seeds (see image 3). The interior is illuminated by natural light filtered in through the optical strands. The design is like nothing I’ve ever seen. I would love to be able to see and experience it up close.
