I honestly can’t believe this was built in 1959. It looks so fresh. I am guess the interior has been changed somewhat since then, but even so, it looks very modern.

My thought’s exactly! To have been built over 50 years ago, this house still showcases a fresh perspective on both interior design and architecture…or at least I think so.

It kind of reminds me of the house from the film “A Single Man”, with lots of wood and glass. If you haven’t seen it I would recommend it!

I haven’t heard of it, but I will definitely have to look it up now. Thanks for the suggestion!

I love this era of architecture – they have such strong characters that they’ll continue to feel fresh for decades more I think. Have you heard of the Case Study houses? They’re a series of similarly fantastic houses from a range of architects… Neutra, the Eames etc.

We studied a little about them during my senior year. Actually I think the Case Study Houses would make a cool blog post (if you don’t mind if I steal the idea)!
