When Italian designer Andrea Brena decided to take a year off from the bachelor’s program at Eindhoven Academy, he found himself creating his own masterpieces. Utilizing the ancient art of Arm-Knitting, Brena soon discovered his niche in the design world. The craftsman creates a range of furniture entitled “Knitted Army” by reusing discarded fabric strips from textile factories to knit into carpets, pillows and chairs using only his arms as the guide. The scraps are also used to stuff the furniture. Brena’s sustainable furniture design is quickly becoming recognized and each piece seems undeniably comfortable!
