Iranian photographer Ashkan Honarvar successfully makes the most gruesome photos (dare I say it) delicious! In his 2009 series, Faces 5,  Honarvar takes photos of soldiers from WW1 who suffered extreme facial injuries and recreates them with present day models- and candy. Superimposed images of ice cream, jelly beans, licorice and sprinkles in place of war wounds either leaves the viewer with a sweet tooth, or completely grossed out. Either way, the Faces 5 series is a sweet euphemism for the lasting wounds that war leaves.
