It’s not everyday that people venture from the mundane, cut-and-dry workday that has become known as life. After realizing this monotonous phenomena one day, photographer Jordan Matter decided to capture people taking full advantage of the here and now. Employing professional dancers to leap, kick, plie, etc. in the midst of everyday scenes, Matter captures the true meaning of living in the moment.
“Asking dancers to embody these ideals makes perfect sense. Dancers are storytellers. They’re trained to personify passionate moments, their bodies imbued with a stunning combination of artistry and athleticism. They create a fantasy world, offering us a deeper look into familiar settings. They bring to life what we feel but are unable to express physically.” – Jordan Matter
