I am completely infatuated with French artist, Francoise Nielly‘s massive paintings- they are downright sexy. I am always inspired by female artists, and Francoise is topping my list at the moment. Surprisingly, her illuminating portraits, sometimes 6 feet in height are produced while she looks at black and white photos, smoothing the oil paint on with a painter’s knife. I’d love to see her portraits brighten the side of a building.Find more vivacious prints and watch Nielly effortlessly paint her blindingly gorgeous works of genius here.
Clearly, Georgette and I are obsessed with COLOR.

Japanese balloon artist turned dress designer Rie Hosokai creates amazing, 24 hour-wear dresses out of latex balloons. These dresses have a short life span and of course can’t be worn around sharp objects. To create the detailing, balloons are inflated and hand woven vertically and horizontally into different patterns. The tedious part is getting the correct amount of air in each strategically placed balloon. Before Hosokai discovered her gift as a Read more

I love when a designer can take the most ordinary objects, manipulate them, and create something that’s entirely unprecedented. Just have a look at the Kostam at the Prince Albert.

Using an old pub located in Kings Cross as his new restaurant location, he partnered with the designers at Heatherwick Studio in hopes of bringing new life to this otherwise ordinary facility. Hoping to maintain the integrity of the building during it’s redesign, the designers looked for ways in which they could completely transform the space, while keeping the majority of the original design in tact.
