Winner of the TED 2011 Prize street artist, Josh Rubin believes that art can be used to change the world. With the city streets as his canvas, JR uses black and white photographic portraits to relay the untold stories of various people around the world. By pasting these pictures in the city streets, JR has turned hillsides into dramatic and emotionally moving pieces of art.

In 2006 he launched “Portrait of a Generation,” a gallery in which large-formatted portraits of suburban “thugs” were posted on walls of  upper class communities in Paris. Read more
